Capital Area Food Protection Association
The Capital Area Food Protection Association (CAFPA), founded in 2000, is an affiliate of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP). The mission of CAFPA is to provide food safety professionals in the greater Washington, DC area with a forum to exchange information on protecting the food supply. The objectives of CAFPA are to:
- Provide a forum for professionals in the area of food safety and quality,
- Assist members in their technical work and professional development,
- Disseminate information regarding the protection of the food supply,
- Promote methods and procedures for ensuring the safety of the food supply,
- Cooperate with other professional groups in the improvement and promotion of the food safety.
CAFPA has members from all parties involved in food safety, including government, industry and academia. CAFPA typically has 2 meetings per year with the annual meeting featured in the fall.
