Capital Area Food Protection Association (CAFPA) is pleased to announce its first Student Travel Award Competition. CAFPA invites all graduate students in the area of food safety who plan to give presentations or posters at the IAFP 2011 in Milwaukee to submit an extended abstract of original research to cafpadc@gmail.com by June 30, 2011. Length of abstract is to be a maximum of 2 pages, single spacing in Times Roman, 12 point type, 1 inch margins. In addition to the abstract kindly submit the following for the judges’ review:
- Curriculum Vitae, limit of 2 pages
- Paragraph stating significance of the research and practical application to the food industry, limit of half page
- Summary of student’s interest in food safety, limit of 1 page
- Contact information for a phone interview if needed for clarification
Final decision for First and Second Place winners will be by July 8. Successful applicants will receive checks promptly, and all candidates will be notified by July 15. First Place winner will receive $500 and Second Place winner will receive $250.
